Announcing a new Meetup for Hopkinton Board Games!

What: Games and Food!!

When: Saturday, July 3, 2010 11:00 AM

Where:
My House
TBD
Hopkinton, MA 01748
TBD

I was thinking of hosting a cookout this summer, but I don't know what kind of availability or interest there is.

July 3 seems like it might be a good day. It's not the 4th, so it shouldn't interfere with those festivities. It's a Saturday. This is tentative to see what kind of interest there is.

I was thinking of making this a long day thing, so it could start around lunchtime and end whenever people are tired of playing games and eating.

Eventually, we will use this thread for people to sign up for what they want to bring.

Is this a kid-friendly event? Corinthia (11) and Zachary (9) would be attending in addition to me, Janet, and Evelyn if we come.

I call dibs on a shrimp/macaroni salad, will bring something "exotic" to grill too.

We have a grill, a decent sized refrigerator and plenty of coolers. I don't know what other appliances people need, but hopefully we have whatever is required.

I'm sure we'll buy hamburgers (grass fed beef) and hot dogs (nitrate free) and we can make a lot of lemonade. I don't have any other specific food plans until I see what other people want to bring. I will probably make some sort of dessert.

I'll bring veggie burgers and pasta salad without meat (the one I made a lot when you lived next door). Or I'm happy to bring something else if we end up missing something in particular.

We'll have to cook the veggie burgers on the griddle because otherwise, you might end up with charred meat inside.

I can bring a dessert of some form. I can make Brownies or Oatmeal Butterscotch Bars. Or maybe a Bundt cake. Do you have any preferences?

I'll definitely avoid stuff that needs refrigeration. Are there any food allergies I should be aware of?

I don't know of any allergies yet and all of your suggestions sound good. I lean more toward the brownies, but that's just me.

If Rodney is coming, he should add + 1 for Mutant Hair.
